Hey lads. I'm trying to learn to handpaint and I find it difficult to get the results I want just with Vallejo plus water, so I've been screwing around with some custom thinner mixes and other stuff. I like the results I get from their airbrush thinner actually, but I've been playing around with flow improver plus water and gotten better results so I think I just need to screw with the mixture.
Anybody got some suggestions on ratios? What I've got laying around right now is distilled water, liquitex flow aid, vallejo retarder, Vallejo Matt Medium, and then I also have their thinner medium and airbrush thinner, but I haven't had good luck with the thinner medium alone in getting good coverage with minimal brush strokes.
