What if we did that but on a smaller scale, say, all across a brickbuilt Mata Nui. Each player could have a brickbuilt figure to play as, whether it's the Toa, the Makuta, the Turaga, the Bohrok, or literally any hero/villain potentially (similar in scale to pic related, though probably with printed masks instead). It could pose as both a display piece and a bit of fanservice from the "imagining the matchups you've dreamed of, in the game" angle.
Or it could outright just be a Chess board with various characters representing the pieces, tho that might be a bit boring.
