So Eastman will be cool with anything done to the property as long as he can use it to make more to fund his other passion projects(which don't always pan out, he lost millions trying to start his own comic company because he was giving money away) For example, Eastman's TMNT project was Bodycount, a series that entirely serves to let Bisley draw over the top action and violence. but little int he way of writing.
So when Laird saw that Eastman's heart really wasn't in it, he gave him a generous buyout offer and they parted ways.
