I didn't buy too many new toys this year, so I'll just describe my top 3.
>Lego Galaxy Explorer
A perfect mixture of what made old Lego so great (limited color palette, original designs) mixed with what's good about current Lego (Intuitive building techniques and play features) resulted in a perfect homage to a classic Space set. If you can still find it at Walmart for $50 it's definitely worth it.

Easily the best kit of the year in terms of engineering and OOB looks, and probably the best thing Bandai put out all year. Only flaw is the posable hands are a bit shite, but it's a kit so it's pretty fixable. Close second in terms of Bandai kits is the HG Aerial.

This is my first Broadway Limited loco and if all of them are this good then I'm sold. Great runner, sounds amazing, and looks great for something that's barely 3 inches long
Dishnorable mention goes to the Symphogear ACT-MODEs. They're fun figures but there's no reason that these had to be ACT-MODEs. On reveal I had assumed they'd have Armed Gear that you'd put together yourself like the weapons in other ACT-MODEs but nope, the weapons all come pre-assembled. The only semblance of being model-kit related is that their stands come on a runner. And as a result of being ACT-MODEs they're too large to display with other anime figures besides other ACT-MODEs. I mean shit, if I put ACT-MODE Hibiki side by side with Figma Hibiki I expect some discrepancy in height but not a whole head's worth. Not to mention all of the various QC problems they had that led to people literally carving the figures up in order to allow for more articulation. Hopefully the FIS girls don't end up as shitty as the first three did.
