What's the point of listing items you can't buy on the website as being in stock?

Why leave the "Add to Cart" button on things you can't add to cart, and just mark them as out of stock?

Why don't some items show they are on sale until you add them to cart?

They had the vintage X-Wing and TBS Snowspeeder marked down to $18.99 as well, but you can only get them in person maybe in a store 8 states away.
