A lot of major joints required a massive amount of filler and sanding, which almost made the near complete lack of any surface detail whatsoever a plus since you didn't have to worry about removing it. The transparent parts for small windows at the rear of the cockpit weren't even remotely the right size (and preposterously thick), the wheel wells have no detail whatsoever, the main part of the cockpit is just a plate that's supposed to sit somewhere in the bottom of the fuselage without any guidance at all (and, naturally, had to be sanded down a good bit for the fuselage sides to meet up), the fuselage sides where bananas, the amount of flash as you can see was downright silly, for some reason they give you sidewinders as 15cm rockets, fins for the smaller rockets are cast as raised bits on a flat strip that you're apparently supposed to fillet off (pic, though in recent boxings you're also given PE fins), sprue gates are gargantuan and often intrude a good bit onto the kit parts and the manual is a bit of a jumbled mess.
