>>11365841>Homemade decals look like ass NTA, but not really strictly true, I've printed my own decals and while obviously not as crisp as the ones from actual print shops, they are at least passable. If you say it's 7x7mm then it's likely they would be as good or better than what you managed to achieve through a lot of work. Also you can always touch up with paint later.
>>11365850Are those printed on actual printer paper? How are they so thick?
pic related - top left - decals on white decal paper (centimeter grid for scale); bottom left - leaflets printed on regular printer paper (I think the walls were like 6cm wide maybe); right side - containers done with single- and multipart stencils (these were about 5cm high).
I'd say for large areas with relatively little detail, stencils work wonders (though it was a nightmare trying to get them to sit in the grooves of the containers), but when you need a lot of detail that is difficult to free hand, printing is a viable option.
I have a regular printer with pretty ass DPI and I think that my attempts look a lot better than what I would have achieved without printing. I think images with a lot of detail or prints with clear primary colors work pretty well (I printed red text on transparent and it was crisp) But for some colors it fucks up by dithering if there are large areas (as can be seen on the drone serials).
