>>11394087>Origins WaldoI know this is a shitpost but my kids would love this.
>>11394134I'd say this guy gets a pass because he looks good, isn't a snake and isn't on their team.
>>11393423>>11393475>>11393546I don't 100% agree that it was "no more vintage" and sales fell off a cliff. Because when you look at the last two Mattel years, they've gone back to that well for multiple figures for Origins. Same with the Super7 year. If sales were that bad they probably wouldn't touch them.
I agree that the lack of vintage meant some fans got off the bus (as Scott says) but without real sales data I don't think we can come to the conclusion as the sole reason. There must have been some money to make or Super7 wouldn't have picked up the licence to continue.
Scott has also said multiple times that Mattel let him do this on his spare time as a passion project I really think that it was probably a combination of losing the head autist/architect who had the vision is probably just as important as a drop in sales. And also who knows what else went behind the scenes. Maybe it's foolish but I don't think that Origins wouldn't suddenly tank once they complete the vintage line.
And for whats its worth, it looks like most of the few Classics I own came from these years (Dare, Crita, Sundar.) And there are lots of bright spots to pick out for use in Origins. I would love a 5.5 Karg, Lodar, Dylamug, Wrap Trap. I don't think any of those would be barrel scrapping.
Sorry for blog posting. Here is a cat.
