So I actually just found out that the smooth Princess Leia hair that I have is rare and valuable. Why do people pay so much for this?

I'm gonna buy a new Princess Leia fig to go with it cause I actually only have the hair (trading Lego with my friend as a kid).
Is it worth starting a bricklink store just so that I can sell this? Would people even buy a high priced item off of somebody who has never sold anything?
