For these there's really nothing comparible on the market. They are mecha versions of some popular godzilla esque characters, and there's a lot going on with them. They all feature inset little pilots, everything is handpainted, there's all sorts of crazy glows and glitter infused vinyls. Most impressively is that every part is actually multiple parts carefully engineered to layer with inner mechanical parts covered with the clear outer layers. It's cliche to say, but these are stunning in person in a way that pictures will -never- capture. And again, this is all stuff hand made by a couple of people. So yes, rediculous to someone buying toys at walmart, but the level of craft in these far exceeds that found in most other art or most other toys IMO. I wish there were mass market things with this level of complexity. Certain transformers and micromen are definitely in the same wheelhouse, but not quite to this level of craziness.
