Recently installed a darklight behind this Eva pachinko machine part. Swung it around my collection and realised how many toys have unintended or gimmick glow in the dark properties. I immediately went and ordered a bar blacklight to light up a collection of Toxic Crusaders and some film to block light entering the display from the sides.
But im wondering now if a blacklight is a safe longterm lighting option for displaying these toys given the UV radiation over time. I have a sealed collection of figures and out of box mint vehicles in the cabinet. My concern is mainly the release of plasticisers inside the blisters, yellowing of the blister itself and bleaching or damage to the glow in the dark paint and plastic of the vehicles.
Also how do I take a decent picture of toys under a blacklight.
