also i was the one that mentioned the renaissance armors because that was the peak in plate armors and probably when armor was at its heaviest and my point then was that armor and gear then was lighter than the modern day soldier. if people today are able to hike 40 miles wearing more than 80 lbs of gear in 20 hours just to qualify for a modern SF unit i believe people back then would be able to fight effectively in extended battles for less time with less equipment(50lbs max for plate armor).
