We could finally get a 5" Rita and the other members of the crew who never got 5" figures. Playmates isn't afraid to make one-off villains either, so the door is wide open for monsters of the day. With Playmates there's also the strong possibility of playsets! Command Center? Rita/Zedd's Palace? I couldn't be more hyped about this news. I don't give a shit if they aren't "collector" geared figures, as long as they're well made and fun, something neither of which Hasbro's offerings were.
I just hope Playmates prioritizes villains/monsters who have never had an action figure, or at least ones who were never made in 5" scale. Bandai's monsters are hard to top, they had excellent sculps which really looked like the characters leapt off the screen. Instead of making a new Pudgy Pig or Eye Guy, make a Shellshock, Turban Shell, Nimrod, etc. MMPR has so many memorable monsters begging to be immortalized in action figure form. People have bought the MMPR Rangers a hundred times now, so the villains/monsters is where Playmates can really stand out and thrive.
