>>10315078I'm close to completing my loose 90s Beastwars/Transmetal collection so re-releases that are weirdly shittier and not far off the price of the originals hold zero interest for me. I dont think the cost of the old figures is enough of a barrier yet that new collectors who like the line have to compromise on these, or they have no nostalgia for the 90s line and are happy to buy the remakes. I feel like Hasbro is making the right choice with more Beast Wars figures but as usual they're fumbling on the details/cost margins/target market too hard (or the target market is just not me). The cost of re-producing the transparent and chromed parts for a lot of the figures might be impractical at the price points they're aiming at, but for me the solution should be increasing the price point, not re-releasing the most cost efficient old figures or shit like the Play-dough Leo Convoy. Third parties are already releasing exquisite MP sized Beast Wars figures around $100. I'm looking to Transart to make modern Beastwars figures that are worth buying, otherwise it's the joy of hunting down rarer and mintier originals that's also part of the appeal.
