You'd still want to wear gloves and use a wad of cotton or one of those makeup pads and you wouldn't want to breathe it in.
BTW, if you want to rub it on a black gloss enamel coat (as opposed to lacquer), do it after about 6-9 hours after spraying, don't wait full 24 hours or it won't be as bright.
You can also rub it over black primer for rough iron effect.
