>>9891510it's interesting how much variation there is when it comes to swamp monsters. with man thing and swamp thing each basically taking a page from the heap and dialing up their respective gimmicks to 11. Manthing remained a mute shambling monster with ties to the supernatural like the heap was for most of his early appearances while swamp thing dialed up the whole "I used to be human" angle to equally great effect.
That said I think swamp thing's "human-ness" is what lifted him to greater popularity versus manthing and the heap. Still I too wish the old heap could get some plastic love.
