I got a Godzilla vs. Kong 11" Kong last year that I was going to do some custom paint and fur on, but I realized how disappointing it would be to go through all that work and then be limited to the very poor articulation that he comes with. So I bought a similar sized Hulk figure from the Disney store and now I'm making some kind of frankenstein abomination. I shortened the legs and next I'm going to extend the forearms and replace the feet with parts salvaged from the Kong figure. Kong and this hulk have the same sized hands too, so I'm going to make the hands swappable somehow. I'll have the option of fists, a holding right hand for an axe (which I'm going to 3D print), and an open left hand that he can hold a 1:18 female figure in.
This project feels like insanity so far but I hope the end result is worth the effort. The Hulk figure has really floppy shoulder swivels because they're meant to be operated by levers, so I have to thicken up the joints somehow, maybe with some styrene sheet.
