Meanwhile you know what you had in the 90's? The Mars Attacks cards from the 50's getting a reprint and new series aimed at young boys that did well enough.
I don't think any parents are actually shoving their kids in a wood panneled 80's themed room with VHS tapes and a CRT telling their kid they NEED to watch their favorite nostalgic cartoons or they can't eat.
It's more like a parent sees something nostalgic to them, comments that they liked it, the kid is curious and tries it for a bit and maybe they like it too or they don't.
