And yeah the undersides of his feet unfortunately make up a large portion of the rear of the Vehicle mode, but it doesn't all sit flush on the ground thanks to the raised bits (circled on one foot) which are somewhat unnoticeable in vehicle mode if they ever did get rubbed to the bare plastic.
Though the more I'm playing with him, this paint certainly seems resilient. I wouldn't worry about chips or rubbing (aside from his hips) unless you pose your toys on sandpaper or something.
Also he has an ab crunch and nobody talks about it.
