Actually upon further research Big Convoy also only has an energon matrix, as did all the members of the Convoy Counsil who are the collective leaders of the maximals. Then there is Blue Big Convoy which has an alpha matrix which is something different and supposedly better than the energon matrixes since Blue basically said fuck you to the council because his matrix was better than theirs.
In fact there are 7 matrices and then there is the silver matrix which basically created the universe and then broke apart into zodiacs (whatever the fuck those are) and I think the matrix of leadership is still the strongest and possibly what is left of the silver matrix after its universe creating powers left it. It is also a direct conduit to Primus himself so only the leaderest of the leaders has it. So who has the matrix of leadership during beast wars?
