Honestly I saw this movie like a hundred times when I was a kid, I don't know how I missed Red Baron every time.

I'm actually a big fan of this casting because of its lineage. It was one of the early HW castings based on Mattel-owned Monogram model kits, designed by Tom Daniel. He did a lot of hot rods based on archetypes and pop culture; Red Baron, Paddy Wagon, S'cool Bus, and Ice T being among the most popular.

I actually just did this in reverse; I bought a bunch of older castings just because I thought they looked cool and later found out they all have a similar story behind them. This lot represents almost all of the Hot Wheels adapted from 1:24 Monogram model kits by Tom Daniels.
