Blue tak is sticky so it will keep the head nice and snug. Oyu-pla can be used to create a connection closer to a production figure as you can mold the clay into the exact shape of the joint, and it will harden once it cools. The best thing about either of these methods is they aren't permanent. Hot glue would probably be the most difficult to do and most difficult to reverse if you screw up.
