>>9374760I said that if Hasbro decides to do what
>>9373432 suggested and redo the Monster Pretenders by giving them new alt modes based on their pretender shells, I'm worried they might give the shell-versions of their alt modes the same color schemes as their bot modes (since their shells were always completely different colors from their inner bots) in order to make the combined form of Monstructor have his G1 color scheme. Then I mentioned the reason why I'm worried this might happen is because of what they did with Mainframe, where they ditched the classic color scheme of one of his modes (in this case, his robot mode) in order to accommodate the new mode Hasbro came up with for him (in this case, his new alt mode as Teletraan-1).
>>9374762You can headcanon that if you want, but there is no reason for others to assume that explanation rather than Mainframe having a different color scheme. Whenever a new Optimus Prime comes out, we never have to wonder if this is the same Optimus Prime as the one we've had before unless there is fiction to say otherwise (or at the very least, unless the new toy with an previously used name bears no resemblance to the old one, like happened with many Beast Wars name reuses). Similarly, that other Prowl was determined to be a different character because of the fiction that came with the Binaltech line. Without fiction to establish this as a different Mainframe (who just so happens to have the same sculpting details on his head and torso), there's no reason for others to assume that's the case. But like I said, you can still headcanon it if you want to. Heck, you could headcanon every Optimus Prime toy as a buncha different guys with the same name if you want to. They're your toys, so enjoy 'em how you want.
>>9374774>He reminds people of that but he seems to be a new thing? It isn't just that he reminds people of it. The back of the box literally says he's Mainframe, and that his alt mode is Teletraan-1.
