Make anything out of lead and you'll have a lot of people paying a lot of money just because it feels heavy.
This also makes people believe that diecast costs more to produce than a plastic toy, despite that being the opposite.
This also leads people to say a plastic toy is cheap just because it doesn't weigh as much as another plastic toy or because it "feels hollow"
People just like things to weigh and companies are more than happy to bilk them by using cheaper means of production and charging a premium for it.
