The figma line was always about popular franchises/flavor of the month interspersed every now and then with weird releases. It's been that way since the very beginning, and is exactly the same right now.
What is actually happening here is that you people don't care for the most popular shows/franchises and also don't know jack shit about classic characters that they are still releasing. You're just asking for a different flavor of the month or "classic" shows that are only classic to you because they did re-runs non-stop on Cartoon Network, but that doesn't mean the japanese care about them nowadays.
In other words, it's all about tastes. Don't try to pin the blame on the company because they're not catering specifically to you. I've been collecting from the very beginning, and the figma line releases are actually way more varied nowadays that back when it started. Yes, even taking into account the shitton of idols, fate characters and boats.
