I'm always one of those assholes who is bitching about overly-accurate figures and how I want to see more new design concepts, but... I just feel like this falls short of the original Armada design, especially the grill-chest. On the original it was this fantastic, gleaming amalgamation of machinery that was a perfect blend of truck and robot parts, and the new one it literally looks like the heel tread of a tennis shoe. Not a fan of how they turned the chevron sculping on the crotch into something that looks more like a cicada carapace, either, and the panel line down the center really draws your eye to it. Just seems like a bunch of bad choices all together. I also hope he's a bit mistransformed in that pic, because his whole torso feels kind of disjointed, too.
I'm probably still gonna buy him, if only to show my support for more non-G1 stuff getting made, but it is a tiny bit of a disappointment. The real deciding factor is gonna be his truck mode. If they fuck that up, I might have to pass, because Armada Optimus' truck mode is fucking hardcore and is probably my favorite thing about the design.
