I had my reservations about that head sculpt (particularly the hair) but once I picked him up I was pleasantly surprised to find he holds up better than I thought he would. I agree a matte coat would go a long way but I don't think he's really glossy. More of a satin. Not gonna argue that there aren't better Gambits, there are. I'd even prefer the old toybiz figure if not for his miniscule size. But judging Hasbro's effort here for exactly what it is, I think it's a good figure for what you're paying for it.
