>>11422239to each their own, but I can't agree. The finish is bad, but the softer detailing in the sculpt is what kills it for me. It's probably caused by the use of the softer rubberized plastic that Hiya tends to use. The sculptor, before they fired him, tried to tell Hiya that they needed to adjust the sculpt to be deeper to compensate, but he was kind of an idiot for talking about it on Twitter and not keeping it private.
There's also the tendency to over emphasize some of the flaws of the suit. The way the legs meet the ankles is definitely reflective of how the suit's legs were too wide and almost looked like barrels over the feet in some shots, but because the suit wasn't ridged they weren't always like that. Going with the barrel look for the toy is not really a choice I would have gone with, it just looks bad imo.
Still, I'm not canceling my pre-order or anything like that. It's not perfect, but it's still a pretty good figure for $50
