First I asked her what she wanted for our anniversary. Now she’s generally a very frugal person but she makes the same joke every year leading up to our anniversary and requests some ridiculously overpriced handbag or bit of jewelry. She then immediately walks back her statement and requests something reasonable.
Not this year! She asks for some necklace from BVGARI and I humor her… “which one,” “what material,” etc. The next day I drop $5k on this trinket and then immediately backed Galactus.
She loved the gift and has been profusely thanking me for days. Meanwhile, I casually mention that I bought a toy. She didn’t even bat an eye and when she sees the bank statement it should have both charges within a couple of days, I doubt she’ll have the nerve to say anything. I’m waiting.
