Gaypost bros but here goes. I just wanted to share with someone other than Reddit that despite its shittiness, Bonkle g2 meant a lot to me. I’m 26, so I was at a ripe age for G1, but I didn’t remember much outside of “ooo cool toy gimme.” It wasn’t until G1 was winding down that I really cared about it. So that was bittersweet.
So I get older and of course more versed in the internet and such. Bonkle G2 rolls onto the scene. I was in the very first /biog/ and followed that shit like it was headline news. I got so excited for the sets. It felt really involving. Oh, and a bonus to all this was I actually missed out on the Toa Mata until a relative bought them for me from eBay when I was like 16. So this was my second chance and grabbing them boys right out of the gate.
Leaks and hype continued and G2 came out and ofc I bought all of 2015 as soon as I saw it. 2016 I took a little slower due to life and money, then the cancelation happened and I was just totally deflated. Unfortunately didn’t finish my G2 2016 collection because fuck sake they are outrageous now. And I was so mad that the story was so shit I couldn’t see straight. But man, G2 was a cool opportunity for me. I was able to follow it and be excited and get the sets first contrary to my childhood. It was just pretty cool guys. Quite magical walking into Walmart in my early-mid 20’s and being on the lookout for Bionicle sets.
I love you /biog/
