>>8158691The show was supposed to sell toys, since MOTU is getting revived with a Kevin Smith animated series which is continuing the story of the original Filmation He-Man series, as well as a second animated series that's a reboot, and a live action He-Man movie, with lots of tie-in toys. So, how is any of this aimed little girls?
The toys ended up flopping, because little girls weren't the target audience for the show like they were supposed to be. There's a saying in design, that "people ignore designs that ignore people," and to that children ignore cartoons that ignore children. Children didn't care about body positive She-Ra or her friends. And most of the fan art out there is about the villains because they're made out to be handsome, and have dark pasts and be good looking and cute, and the focus is on Catra-- THE PRETTY ONE!
