>>9167742>full of shit when claiming i made myself out to be a fount of knowledge about modern dc>can't quote anything from this thread despite claims it existed>switches gears to other argument that was already proven to be full of shit>new argument>b-b-but you don't know anything about these characters but merch!so? Most people here know jack shit too. How many people here bothered to read any of the Metal comics? Most people here read a page or three from /co/ or from whatever websites that announced it, or maybe they only read an excerpt or summary somewhere like a wiki.
I'm sure some people read an entire issue or two too. Pretty rare if someone read the entire storyline or series, considering how much the comics sell. Hundred thousand for the best sellers.
There's nothing wrong with being a merchcasual because sometimes some shit is too cool to not own. As long as you don't act like you know everything, without ever having read/watched the source, who fucking cares.
ANYWAY, how would you even describe me as a merchcasual if i own most of the comics that those characters appeared in? I own singles for No Man's Land storyline that Icons Harley Quin is supposed to be based off on. I also own the trades for it, including most of the trades for the storylines that led up to the the No Man's Land storyline and the trades for the storylines for the storylines that led up to No Man's Land.
I own the comics and trades for the Icons Superman vs Doomsday box set is based on. I own comics and trades featuring damien wayne, and because i liked his character i bought the Super Sons Icons set. I own so many trades and comis for the vast majority of comic toys i buy, but most of what i buy isn't based on modern DC comics.
To call me a merchcasual just because i bought a few toys that are based on movies/comics/animes/books/etc i've never read/watched is disingenuous.
On the inverse, it'd like calling me a nazi just because i like their Hugo Boss uniforms. Ridiculous.
