>>9585764Be like me and learn War Thunder dev CDK and make your own historical scenarios. I haven't played multiplayer in almost 3 years now and I'm having a great time. There's tons of stuff in the CDK that isn't ingame, like APC's, anti tank guns, infantry (ww2 only though), AI artillery volleys. The AI scripting is pretty robust and easy to use too so you can get the AI to do anything a player can really, including setting planes to strafe/bomb/rocket units etc etc.
Pic related is one mission in my Battle of Prokhorovka campaign, you play as a SU-152 holding off a German counter-attack.
Most people are totally unaware of how powerful the CDK is and I don't blame them, their only exposure to AI in this game is that one AI wave mode who's name I forget that's disgustingly low effort, you have no idea how half assed it is until you learn CDK. They literally just set the AI to spawn and move in a straight line towards a center point with absolutely nothing else set. The AI is capable of complex actions but they did the bare minimum, it's pretty hilarious and sad. Although it makes me wonder why they gave the AI so many options to begin with if they're never used in-game.
Something that especially baffles me is how AI used to fill in for players in Arcade/RB Battles doesn't have pathfinding enabled so they just pile up like I'm sure you've seen. They're 100% capable of avoiding each other and obstacles with the flick of two switches but they don't even enable it for that? It's extremely confusing.
