>Are you feeling pressured by Japanese companies?>Like the articulation, we're in the process of figuring things outThat's a non-answer.
And again, you're ignoring the ACTUAL techniques being used. They're NOT imitating Japanese companies techniques, they're using what we saw from Toy Biz and DC Collectibles.
As for why the engineering is different from Marvel Legends, it's because they use different factories. Different factories have different tools available. This is why their 1:18 MU figures were different from 1:18 GI Joes and why the 1:18 movie figures were different from the MU figures.
In addition, toys have a budget they work within and some parts of the company develop new techniques that spread to another part of the company. This is why the GI Joe line had the current ankle "rocker" articulation that eventually found its way to all the Hasbro figures. See also Hasbro's Overwatch and Power Rangers lines which has DCC's two torso joints (upper ball joint, lower torso hinge), because they're completely new and don't have ancient molds laying around.
Hasbro is literally just trying out anything, because that's what they've ALWAYS done and this doesn't mean they view any company as competition.
Again, Hasbro is taking it cues more from DCC than anyone else and DCC was never a rival.
PS, Hasbro and DCC use some of the same sculptors.
