>>10762211In retrospect, Prime Wars was obviously them dealing with increasing budget constraints by trying to offer gimmicks that gave you incentive to collect multiples instead of just picking your favorite characters and ignoring the rest. They weren't all brilliant, but some of them are truly remarkable and timelessly fun toys.
Like, imagine being a kid and getting TR Triggerhappy for your birthday, even if you knew jack shit about the character or Transformers. What a fucking toy. I feel like many modern transformers lack that kind of appeal.
