Well for a 3.5 yo a traxxas it's way too fast.. Also spending 500$ for a 3.5 yo doesn't make any sense. If you like the hobby I suggest starting with n HBX 16889 which is 1/16 scale very light, fast enough an indistructable. It's also cheap, around 80$ on banggood. There's a big community and a lot of spare parts if anything happens, Keep the Traxxas for later enjoy the HBX for now, that's my suggestion..
