>>11074175>>11074791>>11074800I got a bit autistic about this because it was bothering me. Anime Trunks' boots and belt are clearly generally supposed to be an ochre-brown colour normally. When he goes super saiyan his super saiyan aura adds brighter, more extreme highlights. Now in this episode where Trunks goes back to the future and dabs on the androids you can see Trunks' boots/belt when not super saiyan are still the ochre-brown colour but during parts of the fight with 18 they are more yellow coloured, an inconsistency likely just due to it being a low budget episode.
Tying this back to the Tonsen Trunks, I think you could technically argue that the A version boots/belt are "anime accurate" for some frames of this particular episode but that 99% of the time, the B version boots/belt are more accurate. If the A version had shading on it, it might look better. For example a sepia or brown wash applied over it might improve the look and it probably wouldn't be too hard to do yourself considering the sculpted detail on there. I think it's a strange colour choice considering the A version has more normal face plates and the B version has more super saiyan face plates so if anything you'd think the B version would have the brighter super saiyan colouring.
In the end I think it's not necessarily "wrong" but for me at least it's not optimal especially considering the jacket colours. Thank you for reading my essay.
