>>11578424even though the last several sets (and upcoming animal mascot set) have bombed with disasters, some of the CMF minifigs are genuine works of art. All that new new awesome stuff, only $5 (busts the concept of expensive figures needing to be in expensive sets to justify the costs of producing them, like no, they CAN only cost $5 if they really wanted)
imagine this D&D character was Ash with a new dual-molded hat/hair piece, molded Pikachu, with a tiny molded PokeBall. all of those things were done in this D&D CMF minifigs, only $5
the switch to boxes was a fumble but they added silly scan codes which compensated (but they seriously just need to print a number on the box, it's patronizing that they make us scan codes)
I don't like "baggy torso with a cinched-waist" usable for female or male-coded characters, give me back sexy boob lines and waist contours, but the collar-less torsos (removing the tiny neck bit color) is an improvement so you can use the torsos with multiple color heads (yellow vs various fleshies and other rainbow colors)
I like the new fun facial expressions.
and I don't know how to say this properly, but new Lego is sticking with the concept of YELLOW heads for the non-real-actor sets. they could have gone all-fleshies by now, but they still insist on staying with the obviously-still-racist-but-kinda-not-racist-could-be-anit-racist concept of yellow=everybody. so that's not really new vs old but more like sticking with old
