>>6323743Its more than we've gotten in any sentai DX before, sure, but its still not great. I get the limitations of a combining figure, of course, but I have seen other combining toys(SoCs, for the matter), that manage more. The head being on a simple swivel hurts a
lot.It suffers from what I call "flail articulation", in that the arms and legs can pose decently, but the torso and head are stiff which makes it hard to really make him sell a pose. for comparison's sake, this chogokin style Gold ranger figure from 1996 on my desk has about the same articulation capability.
I just wish there was some way the T.rex tail and bottom of the pteradactyl(the "belt buckle") could disattach to give him more believable waist articulation. You can bullshit it decently, but I worry about the strain it'll put on components and it really should've been a bigger consideration. It feels like Sentinel would've done something like that. It'd go a long way into selling the poses a lot more. Its an unfair comparison in a way(because of how simple the combining feature is, relatively), but Sentinel's Dancouga is able to pull off poses with much more dynamism and grace and its become the watermark I'm going to hold other figures of this kind to. Even the shoulders could've gotten better articulation because the combining system thats there is relatively simple and more could've been added with relatively little intrusion.
