So in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and into the 00s, blonde female characters are pretty uncommon.
Go look through the old comics, cartoons, and pretty much everything. You'll be hard pressed in finding prominent blonde female characters in hundreds of series and you can count them all with two hands
Outside of media meant for boys, they're more common.
