In all of the official images I've seen with the Nanogan, the only that doesn't look awkward is Haos Widow on Haos Sluggler in picrel. The worst one I've seen is Nano Lancer on the back of an Aquos platinum Dragonoid. I have yet to see a Nanogan placed on any of the Ultras.
