>>6489348Almost all artists will take someone they know IRL and model characters after them. Lots and lots of GI Joes were sculpted that way. Toy Biz sculptors did the same thing, and Hasbro uses many of the same sculptors (still).
Again, Hasbro/Toy Biz rarely ever made anything after comic book characters actual looks, like that Coipel's Thor. Only the uniform itself is pretty much the only accurate thing, as every single comic book artist also draws characters differently... who also model characters after real life people (whether it's people they know or porn actors, who knows).
