my personal favourite modern alt mode for soundwave is a drone/spy plane. I like him being away from the action, gathering data, air dropping his minions to gather intel. I think the prime look is cool as a one off but too monstrous. The earthspark design is peak, I also really love his jet mode from unicron trilogy, hell even like his satellite from the movies
