>>9109891It definitely is unfortunate that the Shaara trilogy was left unfinished. The three original books were solid reads (despite some occasional Lost Cause talking points in G&G), and the Gettysburg movie is an excellent watch. It's also a shame that there likely won't be another movie like Glory that depicts the U.S. Colored Troops with historical accuracy, nuance, and respect, all without falling into politicized pandering. Historical biopics are one of my favorite genres of film, and I'm always eager to see somebody take a swing at it. Hits and misses a plenty, I suppose.
