Hiya uses a cheaper rubberized plasic in their figures, similar to what Neca used to use in most of their Godzilla figures and what plenty of companies use. Stating this is not hating on Hiya it is observing a fact. Stating that Hiya was able to keep prices far lower than that should have because they, like 85% of other Chinese companies, recieved generous government subsidies is also not hating on them and neither is pointing out that they are no longer able to maintain that artificially low price point. Not even counting tarriffs, the Hiya Shimo went from having a $60 SRP to an $80 one with the additional tarriff costs pricing it up to $95.
Bandai uses a more expensive plastic, has more articulation, doesnt recieves subsidies from China or Vietnam for production in their factories, and outside of Godzilla himself does much more limited run sizes. Each of these escalates the price. The only thing that you could reasonably say is that their practice of doing a 100 yen to 1 usd increases the cost to the non-japanese market significantly, but that's still mostly cost of shipping and tarriff duties.
Ghidorah is overpriced because like all the webshop exclusives it had a tiny production run and economy of scale means each individual figure needs to bare more of the cost.
