I know I at least still buy these because it's more charming having a virtual pet in it's own device than just another mobile game.
With that said, I do kinda miss a Tamagotchi being a little alien in a little egg-shaped spacecraft that you took care of. I wish they had embraced that aspect more, but I also think maybe that's too boy-ish for the market they're aiming for.
