There was some talk about the Figure-Rise Standard Wargreymon regarding its gorilla arms, but I just saw this video, and it seems like there was originally wrist articulation built into the design but was perhaps removed due to cost cutting. That said, it seems like you can simply cut that solid joint at the break and you'll have functional wrist articulation. It seems like that's the only change needed. The elbow in the lower pic is cut up a bit because the guy cut that up a bit too to increase the range.
