Most times those prototypes aren't even close to being as painted as beautifully as this... but if oyu've ever seen it in person, there's a whole lotta scuffs, dust, and dents. Which, again, is very easy to ignore because it's usually not noticable from half an arm length away.
Personally, the trade off of dust/prints >>>>>> cheap plastic look
The fact you're so against paint just makes you sound like you work for Bandai or Mattel, because you need to defend their budget cutting ways.
