I’m sort of selfishly glad the trend is a bit off bjd since a lot of people in it for the popularity of it as a trendy hobby are often not in it for the same reasons. Getting new dolls is fun but I’m much more interested with what people do with them so for me it has been way too much hype over orders, waiting, arrivals and box openings, not enough focus on anything after. Especially for the people who either flip lots of dolls or have so many but barely do anything with them. It’s sometimes almost seeming like 2 hobbies, the collectors and then the customizers.
>>7335166I all bought dolls after I got my grail, some are favorites even but I’m more focused on working with and refining my collection now. There is such a thing as ‘too many’ to me, beyond what can be styled and displayed well is too many for my preference and I see this quite a lot. I rather fewer but better styled.
