The basics of Dragon Ball Heroes Its sorta like Digimon in that its a world inside of a video game, so its not bound by the canon and can do these new forms for characters(And shit that should have happened to begin with). The previous three cores,the original, Galaxy Mission, and Jaakuryu Mission, were mostly just a series of missions each, most with a promo short. "Story" was very minimal and mostly self-contained, though the JM sets had them after the Shadow Dragons mostly.
The newest sets, the God Mission, has 2. One is loosely based off of Super, mostly minimal. The second is them taking a page out of Xenoverse and the "player characters" are teamed up with Time Patrol Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time fighting against Towa and Mira's forces.
